Gunter's so-called review of the Goddard Lubicon book.

                        LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
                    Lies, half-lies, and polemics

Re:  "Last Stand of the Lubicon Cree," (Jan. 27).  Talk about "half
truths, distortions and defamations."  Lorne Gunter's review of the
book is not worth the ten minutes it took him to translate government
polemic into a so-called review of a book.  This piece of trash does
not even enhance the federal government position with respect to the
Lubicon Cree.  In fact, it is typical of the lies and distortions
with which the Lubicon Cree and their supporters have been faced for
years.  I would be very curious to know the extent of the "research"
Mr. Gunter did in reviewing this book, and the sources within the
federal government that he uses to justify his accusations. 
Furthermore, this is clearly not a review of a book, but a thinly
disguised attempt to engage in polemical discussion and to discredit
the long-standing claims of the Lubicon Cree.  If there is anything
outrageous, it is the gall to write such garbage in a magazine which
unsuspecting people may read.
